Runcorn Widnes Bridge and Runcorn Rail Bridge. The steeple of All Saints Church in Runcorn Old Town to the left. Viewing from West Bank Promenade on the north side of the River Mersey. The large sandstone promenade was built during Queen Victoria's reign. At the time this area of the river was known for its beautiful clean golden sandy beaches. On a summers day in Victorian times the beach here was very busy with sun seekers and holiday makers.
